Trained as a physiotherapist in New Zealand , now recently moved to Australia after spending 26 years working and studying in the USA where I had my own private practice and worked in a Level 1 Trauma Hospital.
I am extremely passionate about my professional development and building my tool box of skills to truly offer an holistic approach for my clients working with all systems of the body if needed. I have had the opportunity to study with some of the finest teachers in Lymphatic drainage and Chikly Brain work, Upledger CranioSacral, Barrall Visceral work, Mechanical Link, Biofield Tuning as well as many integrative and manual therapy modalities of Physical therapy.
I am also a certified Lymphedema Therapist, Classical Pilates Instructor , Kinesiotape Instructor and Feldenkrais teacher and a current student of Ruthy Alon's Bones for Life (R)
I love helping my clients to find better self organization in their systems, to access the intelligence of the nervous system for kinesthetic and overall improved health and wellbeing, to facilitate the healing of injury/trauma or "dis - ease" whilst also enriching the connectivity and flexibility of all of our systems using a holistic and integrative approach towards wellness.

I have been a Licensed Physical Therapist for over 20 years in beautiful Bozeman, MT and also have advanced training in both craniosacral therapy. I incorporated dry needling into my physical therapy practice over ten years ago and have a passion to assist others with their healing process.

I have always been interested in how the body works and moves. Even as a wilderness camp counselor, I enjoyed teaching my campers proper body mechanics on how to flip and carry a canoe, various paddle strokes and how to put on a backpack more efficiently with less back strain.

After receiving my Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis, Minnesota I decided to move out to Bozeman, Montana. Following school, I continued to explore more alternative therapies. Throughout the years, I continue to appreciate the combination of traditional and non-traditional therapies and how a person can benefit from receiving both.

In my practice, I look at how the body moves and how a person breathes. Assessing the internal patterns that are contributing to the outer patterns of the body and causing pain, tension and decreased tolerance with activity. How a person’s digestion and nervous system are functioning are also important components to optimizing a person’s health. I believe the body has an amazing capacity to heal.

In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, mountain biking, Nordic skiing, rafting, camping and spending time with my family.

The journey to Holistic Empowered Living started when Michael was 21 years old when he graduated from Massage Therapy school in the Winter of 1999 in The Woodlands, TX. Since then, Michael has dedicated his time, his energy in learning, by gaining expertise in a vast array of methodologies (systems) and methods (techniques) from many branches of Western and Eastern Medicine to support people seeking to bring harmony and balance in their life. Michael now calls Golden, CO home here in the foothills of Colorado, providing his gifts to the Golden, Boulder, Denver Metropolitan and surrounding communities. Michael takes an "eclectic" approach through massage therapy and coaching sessions with people of all ages and backgrounds for onsite, online virtual sessions for individuals and groups. The word "eclectic" has many definitions and one that resonates, is that it is a Way a person derives ideas, styles, or tastes from a broad range of sources. Michael has found anecdotally over 23 years through clinical and experiential practice, that there are many Ways to Source. We are all uniquely and wonderfully made individuals that are a microcosm (a Reflection) within a macrocosm (the Universe). When Michael was 22 years old, he discovered for himself the power of Food Healing Nutrition when he cleared all allergies he had suffered with since childhood in a matter of months, and still to this day. Also, Michael in his early 30's started his journey practicing and then seeking to become a teacher of Tai Chi and Qigong. He came to understand the life changing benefits of incorporating these practices daily, along with becoming a practitioner of Vipassana Meditation. Michael Fortier with thousands of hours of training and further thousands of hours of experience with precision and skill utilizes ancient wisdom traditions of Ayurvedic Medicine, Classical Chinese Medicine, Osteopathic Manual Therapy, and contemporary Western/Eastern Massage Therapies. This "eclectic" integration creates a unique bridge for people seeking harmony and balance whether it is for physical, emotional, mental and/or spiritual transformation.

She provides free therapy for disadvantaged children in Asia and actively teaches families how they can help their children. Her passion in helping the special needs children has earned her the Spirit of Young Living’s Foundation honourable mention award at the International Convention 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA.
ABOUT
Yonie’s daughter, now 19 years old, was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in 2003. Her unwavering efforts to help her child brought her to USA where she was eventually certified as Associate 2 Masgutova Method MNRI USA. She also worked at the Neurosensory Camp for Children with Challenges in Canada, USA and Poland. She continued to study at the Institute for Neuro Physiological Psychology (INPP) in the United Kingdom to be certified as a Neuro Developmental Therapist.

Yonie’s experiences with special needs children inspired her to learn more and she pursued a diploma in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST). Her passion in healing through touch led her to find her own practice, Therapies R Us. She actively teaches sensory integration – tactile system and sensorial motor orofacial workshop for parents in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and India. Her expertise is extremely valued in the region and she was featured in the Malaysian and Brunei media to share her views and knowledge on helping special needs children and essential oils.

I feel blessed to be able to use these hands-on methods from Bruno Chikly with you. They are gentle, and incredibly efficient. I combine this with my Ayurvedic assessment and management tools, when appropriate, and Somatic Trauma Resolution techniques as well. I am also a certified volunteer Heartfulness meditation trainer. I have discovered I can do most work remotely also with successful results. I look forward to working with you to help you achieve your optimal health and well-being.
